Check out Rockstar's behind the scenes documentary of the recording and creation of the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack.
"Bill Elm and Woody Jackson, along with a team of accomplished session players put together a captivating reimagination of the old American West, and we caught it all on video with interviews and insight from the players as they recorded stem after emotive stem for the interactive in game soundtrack."
Is Grand Theft Auto V heading to Hollywood? Well, According to VG247 a source close to Rockstar Games told them that Rockstar has chosen Hollywood as the setting.
"Wait.” “Yes?” “What about that story you mentioned?” “[laughs] You’re shocking.” “Man’s got to live.” “This is a big one. And they’re about to close your gate.” “No problem. We’re in an airport. It’s full of planes.” “It’s GTA V.” “About time.” “It’s not easy.” “I know. Did you get the setting?” “Yeah, I did.” “And?” “It’s set in Hollywood.” “OK."
If that's not enough a mysterious anonymous source told Eurogamer that Rockstar Games is ramping up research on locations around Hollywood (Vinewood).
"Eurogamer has learned from an independent source that Rockstar is ramping up research on locations around Hollywood. "
Rockstar, unsurprisingly, only said that they wouldn't comment on "rumour or speculation."

Six Dutch gamers successfully broke a record by playing Red Dead Redemption for 50 hours.
"But another, nerdier record, was shattered this week when six Dutch video game players went on a 50-hour, or 3,000 minutes, gaming marathon to break the Guinness World Record for longest period of time playing a video game.
The previous record was set last year by Chirantan Patnaik, an Indian gamer who played for 40 hours and 20 minutes.
The new world champions, who are probably sleeping right now, played the game Red Dead Redemption, a first-person cowboy game set in the early 1900s, for more than two days. The gamers played on Sony PlayStation 3 and used a special power docking station, TwistDock, to keep their video game controllers charged during their record-breaking exertions.
During the game, the players were allowed to take a 10-minute break every hour for humanitarian purposes — to use the restroom and eat."
Congratulations to Sven de Vries, Renzo Bos, Robbie van Eijkeren, Marcel van Waardenburg, Edward Leest and Maykel Leest who simultaneously set the new mark at 50 hours this past week. Source:The New York Times
Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Redemption patch 1.02 is coming next month. The title update will provide some anti-grief relief with some new features in Free Roam.
"We’d just like to let all fans and players of Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer know that we're aware a few rotten apples persist in the online world, trying to make the experience unpleasant for everyone else. Obviously, these Multiplayer modes can be great fun when everyone is on the up-and-up, so to ensure we preserve the integrity of gameplay for all online, we are actively working on new features to counter against the isolated incidents of abuse that go on.
Our next title update, planned for release on both Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network within the next month, will include measures to counter hacking and cheating. Those who have been detected to be cheating beyond a shadow of doubt will be promptly banned from the Red Dead online world for a period of our discretion.
Additionally, the title update will provide some anti-grief relief with some new features in Free Roam. Those who are being bullied repeatedly in Free Roam will be given the option to flee by Transporting and respawning in a region of the map of their choosing. And those who are bullying repeatedly will face a new challenge: when a player gets a 6 kill streak in Free Roam, they will become "Most Wanted." This alerts other players of their status as a player-killer, and also sends NPC law response after them.
Expect that we’ll continue to monitor the lay of the land and fight the good fight via future title updates to make sure everyone’s multiplayer experience is as fair and as fun as can be.
Thanks to everyone for all of your support and your patience - and we'll see you online..."
EuroGamer captured a time-lapse video of Red Dead Redemption. It's not the first time EuroGamer made a time-lapse video, they also created a GTA IV time-lapse video.
"It's game engines as art, innit? In a week where Red Dead Redemption proved its sales dominance throughout the summer, with DLC announcements just yesterday, Digital Foundry set about completing its own RDR project: the world created by Rockstar San Diego, displayed via the beauty of time-lapse video.
Although based on the same RAGE engine as GTA IV with plenty of commonalities and parallels, it's clear that Red Dead Redemption stands apart as a distinct technical and artistic achievement in itself: the attention to detail in what is basically a barren wasteland is simply phenomenal, and the scale of the game's vistas is hugely impressive. It's almost as if the draw distance goes on forever: compare and contrast to the pared-back, fog-shrouded GTA IV environments in the far distance.
However, similar to GTA IV, the use of lighting and shadow is key to the overall effect of the game and in this respect, the time-lapse shows just how much care and attention has gone into this. The whole scene is realistically lit from the major light source (the sun) with what looks like two animated 3D layers of clouds backed by a larger, inanimate rotating layer. Lighting seems to filter accurately through each element before bathing the environment realistically."
